Expected, but disappointing nonetheless
The rumors that started last weekend came true, Desire Under the Elms will close six weeks early on May 24. That the play received no Tony nominations didn't help either, the grosses dropped to about 30%. And because it's all about money (as always), the end was foreseeable.

Speaking of awards, you remember that Carla was nominated for an Outer Critics Award? Marcia Gay Harden has won this award.

The following has nothing to do with theatre, but it fits into the positive tone of this entry :P - I've read that Andrei Zvyagintsev's segment starring Carla Gugino and Goran Visnjic was cut from the final edit of "New York, I Love You". Maybe it will be featured in the movies eventual DVD release.

*sarcasm on* End of good news *sarcasm off*

Ugh. So dissapointed to read this post. Especially that her scenes from "New York, I Love You" have been cut. Ugh, ugh, ugh x a million.

At least that part will be most probably on the DVD.

Think positive, and hopefully the next news will be great :)

This makes me smad. I'm sure Carla won't let this keep her down for too long. But still this sucks.

You're using 'smad' quite a bit lately - I like it ;)

The first months of this year were filled with good news, and we got used to it. But as I said to janneuvo, think positive and keep a positive attitude :)

It's a Gilmore Girls thing. :D

Oh I'm sure things will get better. :D Especially for the ever gorgeous and talented Carla. :D

Oh, boo.

But looking at the positive side of things, at least it was another talented actress such as Marcia winning the award, even though it wasn't Carla. As for New York, I love You (which I will wait for on dvd), Scarlett Johansson made her directorial debut in the film with a segment that has been cut from the final release as well.

Yes, I heard that Scarlett Johanssons part also didn't make it into the movie.

Like you I will wait for the DVD :).
