Bad news
Today the Tony nominations have been announced and unfortunately Carla did not get a nomination for 'best actress in a play' :(.

I haven't seen the play, so I'm actually not in the position to talk about it. But from what I heard is Carla's performance brilliant, so it's really a disappointment that she wasn't nominated.

As I use to say "Life is hard, but unfair", oh well... :/

Btw, Carla attended "The Costume Institute Gala" yesterday, I'm going to post pictures of the event later.

That's a shame. Makes me wonder why she wasn't nominated.

Makes me wonder why she wasn't nominated.

I've absolutely no idea. And since I neither have seen "Desire Under the Elms", nor the plays/actors that got a nomination, I'm actually not qualified to speculate about it.

This article is interesting though: Tony Awards have no desire for Goodman Theatre's 'Desire Under the Elms'

It really doesn't explain why the morons Tony nomination committee totally passed on the play, the set and the cast (especially Carla). Sad. Oh well. Here's hoping that Carla at least is enjoying the experience of this show and that audiences are loving her. :D

Well that's a damn shame.

Judging soley by what I've seen from the photos of both the play and rehearsals, it seems that Carla and all involved gave Desire Under the Elms their absolute best.

They all worked on this play out of passion for their respective crafts and while awards aren't everything, some recognition would've been an added bonus.

I agree with everything you said.

And yes, it is a damn shame.
