Stage and screen star Carla Gugino, currently back on Broadway in Athol Fugard's The Road to Mecca, fills out Playbill.com's questionnaire with random facts, backstage trivia and pop-culture tidbits.

Gugino made her Broadway debut at Roundabout in Arthur Miller's After the Fall and returned to star in Tennessee Williams' Suddenly Last Summer. She also starred in a revival of Desire Under the Elms.

Notable screen work includes "Spin City," "Chicago Hope," "Spy Kids," "Karen Sisco," "Sin City," "Watchmen," "Night at the Museum," "Entourage," "Californication" and "Mr. Popper's Penguins."

Full given name: Carla Neill Gugino

Zodiac Sign: Virgo

Special skills: Hula hoop

Something you're REALLY bad at: Hula hoop

If you could go back in time and catch any performance, what would it be? Les Liaisons Dangereuses with Alan Rickman and Lindsay Duncan

Current show—other than your own—that you have been recommending to friends: Sleep No More

Stage or screen stars of the past you would most have loved to perform with: Marcello Mastroianni, Cary Grant, Richard Burton, Ann Bancroft, Lucille Ball

The one performance – attended - that you will never forget: When I saw Angels in America in its initial Broadway run

Music that makes you cry, any genre: Bon Iver, Bonnie Prince Billy, the score of Wong Kar Wai's "In the Mood for Love"

MAC or PC? Mac. For sure. Though, in full disclosure, I do love my Blackberry.

Most played song on your iPod: Right now it's "Still Life" by The Horrors

Last book you read: "In The Woods" by Tana French

Last good movie you saw: "The Artist," and Win Wenders' documentary on Pina Bausch

Some films you consider classics: "All That Jazz" "Sweet Smell of Success" "Funny Face" "North by Northwest"

Performer you would drop everything to go see: Jack White

Pop culture guilty pleasure: I don't believe in guilty pleasure. Only in pleasure...

Favorite cities: New York, Paris, Austin

First stage kiss: Peter Krause in After the Fall

Moment you knew you wanted to perform for a living: My first acting class in Los Angeles. I was 13. It was a "cold reading" class. In that first moment of getting to see the world through someone else's eyes, I was hooked.

How you got your Equity card: I believe it was playing Curly's wife in Of Mice and Men at the Geva Theatre in Rochester New York

Favorite pre-/post- show meal: (note where) Pre show: Orso Post show: Bar Centrale

Favorite liquid refreshment: With alcohol: Chopin martini, up, with olives, NOT dirty, bruised. Without: Homemade lemonade

Most challenging stage role you've performed: Elsa in The Road to Mecca is right up there. I am drawn to a good challenge. I find it's good to be a little scared upon embarking on a creative endeavor. Plus, it's more fulfilling when you do finally inhabit it!

A few of your very favorite film performances: Meryl Streep in "Silkwood" Jessica Lange in "Francis" Audrey Hepburn in "Funny Face" Bette Davis in "All About Eve" Emma Thompson in "Sense and Sensibility"

Three things you can't live without: Love. Acting. Chocolate.

Definitely worked haha. It's pretty funny on it's own but good call splitting it like that because it made it even better.

Thank you! :) I've made so many I never know which one to use.
